The burn department involves 40 hospital cots. The department was established in 1968 by the order of Ministry of public health № 757. The department provides noctidial help for emergency and planned patients with burns, chilblains, the consequences of thermal injuries, wide posttraumatic skin defects, the medical help is provided by doctors who took specialization courses in the major burn centers of Kazakhstan and Russia. The patient admission proceeds in the admission department by traumatologists
The department involves 10 wards, the block of intensive therapy with separate ward with aerotherapeutic device “Clinitron” produced in 1996 and two aerotherapeutic “SAT” devices received in 2011 and 2012, also the department has procedure room , operational block divided into clean and septic zones. The presence of the block of intensive therapy involving 3 aerotherapeutic devices in the department allows to decrease the interval between surgeries carried out and promotes the faster recovery of injured surfaces especially in case of circular injuries, returning the health and the life to the patient.
The method of early necrectomy is widely used in the first 2-4 days from the moment of admission at the department despite the residual symptoms of burn shock, with the subsequent ultrasonar cavitation of the injury using the Sanoca 180 apparatus. This allows performing the early autodermoplastics on 7-10th day from the moment of receiving the thermal injury
The department staff, who were educated not only in Kazakhstan but also abroad, are successfully performing reconstructional operations not only on adults, but also on children with the consequences of injuries and burns, resulted in scar contractures and the deformation with localization on joints of extremities, chest cavity, face and neck. Plastic correction of post-burn scar deformations of different localizations, performed by applying new methods and innovational technologies, allows returning the operability of the patient in the shortest time interval and decrease their esthetical defects, which coincides with all the requirements of plastic and esthetical surgery in general.
